Privacy Policy
The Router app for Android, available on Google Play.
- The app lets you check the location and route of vehicles that have a satellite tracking device installed.
- That location does not come from your phone. It is reported by the device installed in the vehicle.
- Only if you tap the button to see your own position on the map does the app ask for location permission. That position is shown on your phone and is not sent to our servers.
- To let you know what happens with your vehicles, the app sends notifications through Google's notification service.
- To work, it needs an account provided by the service provider. It is not possible to register from the app.
- To draw the maps and show a street name instead of a pair of coordinates, map and geocoding services are consulted.
1. About this policy
This policy describes how the Router app for Android handles the information of those who use it.
The app is a query tool: it shows the information that the satellite tracking service provider already has on record for the company that contracted it. The complete handling of that information, beyond the app, is governed by the service contract and by the provider's general policy.
2. Who is responsible
| Company name | HI TECH FACTORY S.A. |
|---|---|
| Tax ID (CUIT) | 30-71237310-1 |
| Address | Rafaela 4210, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, República Argentina |

3. What information the app handles
| Category | What it includes | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account data | First and last name, email address, phone number | Entered by the provider when the user is set up |
| Vehicle location | Position, speed, engine status, distance traveled and route history | The device installed in each vehicle, not the phone |
| Your phone's location | Your current position, only while you use the button to see it on the map | Your phone, only if you allow it. It is used on the phone and is not sent to or stored on our servers |
| Notification data | Your phone's notification identifier, and the phone's brand and model | Generated when you log in and stored with your account |
| Usage data | Login date and time, IP address, chosen preferences | Generated while using the app |
The location of a vehicle refers to an asset, not a person. When that vehicle is driven by an identifiable person, that information falls under Law 25,326 (Argentina) and is handled in accordance with this policy.
4. Phone permissions
- Internet. To communicate with our servers and with the map services.
- Notifications. To show you alerts about your vehicles. You can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings.
- Location (optional). Requested only when you tap the button to see your position on the map. If you do not allow it, the rest of the app works the same. The app does not use your location in the background.
- Fingerprint, face or screen lock (optional). To restore a saved session, the app may ask you to identify yourself with your phone's lock. The check is done by the phone itself: the app does not receive or store your fingerprint or your face.
- Camera. The camera permission is listed among the app's permissions, but no feature in the current version uses it: the camera is never turned on and no photos or videos are taken. If a feature that needs it is added in the future, the phone will ask for your permission before using it and this policy will be updated.
5. What the app does NOT do
- Does not use your location in the background or send it to our servers.
- Does not access your contacts, photos, files or microphone, and does not use the camera.
- Does not show advertising or contain advertising components.
- Does not sell personal information to third parties, under any circumstances.
- Does not build behavioral profiles for commercial purposes.
- Does not track your activity on other apps or other sites.
6. What the information is used for
- Show the location and route of the fleet's vehicles.
- Generate trip, stop and route reports.
- Issue the alerts the company configured and send them as notifications to your phone.
- Show your own position on the map, when you ask for it.
- Verify the identity of whoever logs in and keep the session active.
- Provide technical support and answer inquiries.
- Preserve the security of the service and prevent unauthorized access.
7. Who it is shared with
To draw the map, the app queries a map provider, which receives only the map area being viewed and the IP address. To show a street name instead of a pair of coordinates, a geocoding service is queried, which receives only the coordinates to be converted. Neither of the two receives your name, your email address or the vehicle's identification.
Notifications are sent through Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service. Google receives your phone's notification identifier and the text of each alert, may process them on servers located outside Argentina, and handles them according to its own privacy policy.
In addition, if the company that contracted the service configures it, your vehicles' positions can be sent automatically to an external system chosen by that company, to integrate them with its own tools. The choice of that destination and the subsequent use of the information are that company's responsibility.
Information may be provided to judicial or administrative authorities when a valid order requires it.
8. How long it is kept
| Information | Period |
|---|---|
| Vehicle route history | 12 months |
| Account data | While the account is active |
| Notification identifier, phone brand and model | While the account is active |
| Access logs | 12 months |
The information is kept for the stated period and is deleted when it is no longer necessary for the purpose that justified its handling. Only records that must be kept under a legal obligation are retained, for as long as that obligation requires.
9. How the information is protected
- All communication between the app and the servers travels encrypted.
- Access requires a username and password, and passwords are stored encrypted.
- The key that keeps your session open is stored encrypted in the phone's secure storage.
- Each user only accesses the vehicles the company authorized for them.
- Access to the servers is restricted to staff who need it for their duties.
We recommend using a password you do not use on other services and notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
10. Your rights
You may request, at any time:
- to know what data of yours is on record (access);
- to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (rectification);
- to delete your data when applicable (erasure).
You can view and correct much of your data yourself, from your own account's profile screen, without needing to write to us.
For everything else, write to soporte@gpsonline.com.ar from the address you use to log in, attaching a copy of your ID document. Access is free of charge at intervals of no less than six months.
11. Deleting your account and your data

Your user, your contact details, your preferences and your phone's notification identifier will be deleted. If the request concerns vehicle route history, it must be directed to the company that owns the fleet, which is who decides on that information.
Deletion is carried out within five (5) business days of receiving the request.
12. If you drive a vehicle with tracking
If you drive a vehicle that has a tracking device installed and want to access, correct or delete the information about your routes, the request must be directed to the company that owns the vehicle, which is who decides on that information.
If you write to us, we will forward your request to that company and let you know who it was sent to. The company that owns the vehicle is required to have informed you beforehand that the vehicle has a tracking device.
13. Minors
The app is intended for people over eighteen (18) years of age within the framework of a business relationship. We do not intentionally collect data from minors. If we become aware that a minor's data was registered without due authorization, we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be modified. The current version is always the one published on this page, and its date appears in the header. Substantial changes will be communicated by email with at least thirty (30) calendar days' notice, and take effect going forward.
